PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Jamiat-Ulema-i-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Thursday that another operation is being launched while expressing displeasure over hurriedly made decision.

Speaking at a press conference in Peshawar, JUI-F chief said that law and order situation in country is worsening day by day, adding that militants had spread in several area.

He criticised the police for not going out in the open after the Maghrib prayers in southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He deplored that people from Swat to Waziristan had given a lot of sacrifices in the war against terror, adding that tribal area residents were compelled to beg during the war. He also recalled the abrupt decision of fencing the Pak-Afghan border.

Referring to his Afghanistan visit, Maulana said we had agreed to bring a peaceful settlement of this militancy problem but it could not happen due to establishment's policies, adding that establishment's decision of starting an operation didn't sit well with the tribal elder of the Jirga. He linked the stability of both countries with each other.

Speaking of his contact with Asad Qaiser in this regard, he said he would discuss it with him whenever he is reached out by the latter.

"If we can be friends with Iran, then there shouldn't be any problem in extending a hand of friendship towards Afghanistan", Maulana insisted.

He also demanded snap elections without inference of establishment in order to discontinue hybrid parliamentary politics started after Musharraf.
